If you’re heading out to one of our Méribel chalets or you’re thinking about trying Méribel resort for the first time and want a bit more insider info on the place, then look no further! Here are all your ‘ski holiday in Méribel’ questions answered…
Is there a ski hire shop near to the chalets?
We work with several ski hire shops in Méribel. Most of these offer a mobile service, delivering skis, boots and boards to your chalet. This means you can try them on at your leisure when you arrive. The suppliers we work with also offer The Chalet Company guests an exclusive discount code. For more information, get in touch with our client services team: anneliese@thechaletcompany.co.uk
Where’s good for lunch in Méribel, in town?
There are an abundance of restaurants and cafes in Méribel… from La Cantine D’Alvar and Jacks Bar right at the bottom of the slopes to Barometer and La Taverne in the centre of Meribel! We love these spots and they make a ski holiday in Méribel a cut above the rest! Do chat to our client services manager, or your chalet host, for their recommendations.
Where’s good for lunch on the slopes in Méribel?
There are some delightful restaurants and cafes on the slopes, in and around Méribel and the Three Valleys. Les Castors, right at bottom of Chaudanne, is a tucked away gem, whereas La Petite Cuisine at la Folie Douce (at the Saulire Gondola 1) and Ronnie's (at Rond Point) are more lively options! If you are heading to Méribel Village, then do check out La Terrasse for a hearty lunch. Again, please do chat to The Chalet Company’s client services manager anneliese@thechaletcompany.co.uk, or your chalet host, for their recommendations.
What’s the nightlife like in Méribel?
It’s fair to say that as the sun goes down, Meribel offers a bit of something for everyone! After you have danced your socks off in the Folie Douce all afternoon, you can head down to Ronnie’s, Jacks or Lodge du Village, for some live music and a few more drinks. Live music continues in several bars in Méribel throughout the evening. If you really want to dance the night away, until the wee hours, then head to Sully’s night club. For the more refined tastes, Meribel has an abundance of restaurants catering for all preferences and budgets. This ranges from traditional Savoyard at La Galette, pizza at Igloo or La Barometer, steak at Chez Kiki, an abundance of gooey cheese at La Fromagerie, to a modern curry at Tsaretta Spice. For the real big spenders, check out the Michelin starred L’Ekrin. You’ll be spoilt for choice on chalet staff’s day off.
What is there to do in Méribel for children?
Méribel is a resort that caters really well for children. It’s one of the top choices for a family ski holiday, for this reason. There are an abundance of ski schools offering children’s lesson, plus ESF run a creche slope-side for babies and toddlers. The Altiport ski area has miles of gentle slopes for the children to practice their turns with mini parks, animal runs and lots of scheduled events to keep them happy. There are plenty of places to sledge, as well as a 3km tobogganing run for older children. For proficient skiers, there are plenty of snowparks to whizz around as well as airbags for tubing and jumping. Off the snow, if they still have enough energy, there is a swimming pool with slide and an ice-skating rink at the Chaudanne centre.
How do I get to and from the slopes, from the chalet, every day?
We offer a transfer service, between our chalets and the slopes, from 8:30 – 10:30 and 15:30pm – 18:30, Sunday to Friday. We don’t offer the service for the amazingly located Chalet Evergreen; located directly on the slope, you can literally ski in and ski out!
