June 29 - We would like to start off by thanking the staff and customers of The Chalet Company; sadly it was a rather sudden end to the 2019/ 20 season but, most importantly, everyone got home safely.
Since then, Steve & Phil have been dealing with a fair amount of admin without, unfortunately, the usual hard-working Client Services team of Anneliese, Alex & Anna who are currently furloughed but with the added pleasure (burden!) of home-schooling our children!
We are beginning to now see the wood from the trees… and the good news is that the resort of Méribel and The Chalet Company are still planning for a snowy season in the Three Valleys starting in December 2020.
Méribel Alpina (who operate the lifts in Méribel) are open for the summer season and will be trialling a number of initiatives/procedures that they can utilise on a wider scale in the winter. We are in regular communication with Méribel Alpina and will, of course, share their plans with you. The aim, of course, will be to keep you safe when you are out enjoying your skiing in Méribel and The Three Valleys.
From our side we are, of course, looking forward to welcoming guests into our chalets. We are part of a number of industry groups and are having fortnightly conversations with a group of seven other chalet companies operating catered chalets in Méribel. Between us, we run more than 50 catered chalets in Méribel and we are discussing and sharing knowledge on how we can safely run catered chalets next season. The situation will evolve through the year but as soon as we have some clarity on this, we will let you all know along with the steps we will be taking.
One thing we can do right now is make you feel a little more comfortable in making a booking and, to achieve this, we have broadened out our payment terms as follows:
